The Emergency Department (ED) RN is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The RN assesses, triages, and treats patients with a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring timely and effective care in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Requirements

Current State of Minnesota RN license is required.
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC Certifications (if not current, RiverView will discuss assistance in obtaining on hire).
Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient
Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

2+ years of experience in emergency nursing, ICU, or trauma

Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Triage - Perform rapid assessment and triage based on patient acuity.
Provide direct patient care in the ER, including triage, stabilization, treatment, and discharge planning.
Emergency Intervention - Respond to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma.
Documentation and Reporting - Accurately document patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
Demonstrate compliance with all regulatory standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols.
Communication and Collaboration - Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members. Provide patient education on plan of care, discharge instructions, and medications.
Patient Advocacy and Safety - Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
Emotional and Crisis Support - Provide emotional support to patients and families during traumatic events. Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations.
