RiverView is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. Join our Team! Riverview Health Emergency Department are currently looking for a interested RN to join our team. The Emergency Department (ED) RN is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The RN assesses, triages, and treats patients with a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring timely and effective care in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Current State of Minnesota RN license is required.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC Certifications (if not current, RiverView will discuss assistance in obtaining on hire).
  • Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in emergency nursing, ICU, or trauma

Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment and Triage - Perform rapid assessment and triage based on patient acuity.
  • Provide direct patient care in the ER, including triage, stabilization, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Emergency Intervention - Respond to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma.
  • Documentation and Reporting - Accurately document patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Demonstrate compliance with all regulatory standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols.
  • Communication and Collaboration - Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members. Provide patient education on plan of care, discharge instructions, and medications.
  • Patient Advocacy and Safety - Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
  • Emotional and Crisis Support - Provide emotional support to patients and families during traumatic events. Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations.
