About The Position

Position Summary: The Director of the Operating Room has 24/7 leaderships responsibility for all clinical, staffing, quality, and financial management for the Main Operating Room(s). Provides leadership to the unit, responsible for all aspects of patient care activities, staff performance, and physician relations. Implement strategies, processes, and standards to ensure operations support the key organizational and departmental initiatives such as quality of care, patient safety, and patient satisfaction. Provides clinical guidance and mentorship, while serving as a professional resource to all members of the healthcare team. Participates in CQI activities and participates on various Medical Center committees as direct to address and provide input on OF issues. Works collaboratively with other departments and disciplines across the Medical Center. Assists in the maintenance of Perioperative Services Information Systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing
  • American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification
  • Current Registered Nurse of California
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Knowledge of Title 22, Unions, and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Demonstrated management experience in an Acute Care OR setting.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing or other relevant Master's Degree
  • AORN
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
