About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Are you a Registered Nurse who is interested in advancing your career into a specialty of Critical Care nursing or a new grad that did rotations in or a preceptorship in the ICU unit and thought, “Yes, please!”, this program is for you. This is a full-time, 12-week training program offering a mix of didactic learning and clinical preceptorship. You will be compensated for training hours and will be benefit-eligible.

Requirements

  • ASN / ADN from an accredited program with the ability to obtain your BSN from an accredited program within four (4) years of hire unless you possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting
  • Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain a Colorado RN license
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
  • Ability and willingness to work all shifts – days, mids, and/or nights – dependent on departmental need
  • Ability and willingness to work under stressful conditions with a high volume of patients
  • Ability and willingness to learn in classroom and online settings as well as at the bedside in the clinical setting
  • Ability and willingness to commit to the 12-week training period uninterrupted

Nice To Haves

  • At least one (1) year of RN experience, preferably in an acute care environment
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire.
