The H50 Colorectal Surgery Unit is part of Cleveland Clinic’s renowned Digestive Disease Institute, where surgeons perform more than 5,000 procedures each year. This high-acuity unit is known for its strong culture of teamwork, clinical excellence, and supportive leadership. Caregivers consistently highlight the empathetic and approachable Nurse Managers, who set realistic expectations, advocate for their teams, and step in to support staff during high-demand moments. We are seeking someone who excel in time management, critical thinking, and collaboration, and who are motivated to deliver outstanding patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting. A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend, from 7:00am—7:00pm or 7:00pm—7:00am. Every other weekend and holiday.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (must be presented upon hire)
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification (must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
