Job Summary The Clinical Practice Optimization & Training Manager is a clinical leader responsible for the strategic implementation of training programs, standardized workflows, and performance optimization across DAP Health's frontline clinical teams. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this role plays a central role in ensuring staff deliver care at the top of their licensure with the skills, tools, and support required for high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered practice. This RN-driven position collaborates cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Quality, Compliance, and OCHIN Epic teams to support standardized clinical workflows, pre-visit planning, and care gap closure. The Manager builds and maintains a robust training infrastructure, monitors department KPIs, and provides real-time insights to supervisors and operational leaders, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous workforce development.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of standardized workflows, clinical documentation, and staff development strategies
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of California
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in ambulatory, community health, or primary care settings
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical education, training, or implementation leadership role
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR); OCHIN Epic, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Education, Health Administration, or a related field, preferred
  • Requires current and valid driver's license and current personal auto insurance
  • Frequent travel to clinical sites across the service region required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with UDS, HEDIS, care gap closure, and performance-based care delivery, preferred.
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or managed care, preferred environment
  • Certification in adult learning, clinical education, or quality improvement (e.g., CPHQ, NE-BC), preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the MA Trainer/Float team across multiple clinical sites
  • Ensure all trainers are equipped with "Train-the-Trainer" certification and deliver consistent, high-quality education that aligns with DAP Health's clinical standards and workflows
  • Identify team members who require re-training or performance improvement and deploy trainers or direct support accordingly
  • Act as a key stakeholder in the development and rollout of standardized workflows in collaboration with Quality, Compliance, and the OCHIN Epic (EHR) teams
  • Ensure frontline teams are operating at the top of their licensure, with clearly defined processes that support efficiency, documentation accuracy, and high-quality care
  • Promote core operational standards such as pre-visit planning, care gap closure, inbasket management, and effective test tracking
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive training curriculum for MA roles and other clinical support staff, including onboarding, core competencies, workflow education, and refreshers
  • Develop tools such as checklists, skills validations, SOPs, and quick-reference guides to support consistency in training across all locations
  • Regularly update training materials to reflect changes in systems, clinical standards, or regulatory expectations
  • Develop, track, and report department-level KPIs, including: Number of trainings provided (by trainer, title band, and location) Effectiveness of training (post-training assessments, field observation, outcomes) Trainer performance metrics
  • Consistently report to Clinical Operations leadership on areas of focus, progress toward standardization, and site- or team-specific performance trends
  • Maintain visibility into each staff member's training status and ensure that feedback loops are in place between trainers, site supervisors, and hiring managers
  • Provide actionable feedback to hiring managers to support effective onboarding and retention of high-performing clinical staff
  • Conduct onsite assessments and observation rounds to identify staff who may require additional coaching or workflow support
  • Partner with site leaders to adapt training to team-specific needs while reinforcing DAP Health's standardized expectations
  • Contribute to clinical operations optimization by translating training outcomes into workflow improvements and process redesign when appropriate
