About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC / Charge Nurse) for a permanent opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all unit and departmental functions during the assigned shift. In collaboration with the nursing leadership team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role serves as a clinical and operational resource to staff while modeling the organization’s mission, vision, and values to support exceptional patient outcomes and departmental performance. The CNC supports daily unit operations by assisting with admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient throughput and continuity of care. The role includes participation in quality assessment initiatives, collaboration with leadership and subject matter experts, and fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability. Key responsibilities include supporting service recovery, employee engagement initiatives such as rounding and hourly checks, assisting with staff scheduling and labor management, supporting inventory control, and participating in staff interviewing, training, performance evaluation, and corrective action processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • Strong current acute care Med-Surg RN experience REQUIRED.
  • Will consider staff RNs with a minimum of two years of current Med-Surg experience.
  • Experience must be recent; prior Med-Surg experience from several years ago will not be considered.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse Diploma required; BSN preferred.
  • Active Missouri RN license or compact license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates have recent charge nurse experience in an acute care Med-Surg setting.
  • Participation in professional organizations encouraged.
