Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, and;
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Indiana or holds a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license recognized by the State of Indiana, and;
  • Has two (2) years of nursing experience, with a minimum of one (1) year of home health care experience, and;
  • Meets the CMS definition of Qualified Instructor in 42 CFR 484.80(e), and;
  • Maintains CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge of home health regulatory and reimbursement requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing education and training all levels of staff throughout the agency, including new employee clinical orientation, initial and annual competency assessment, in-services, and identification of individual education as needed.
  • Provide professional development to clinical staff.
  • Direct and coordinate mandatory educational activities in collaboration with Risk, Safety and Compliance.
  • Performs annual educational needs assessment; participates with evaluating education programs, projects and plans future organizational education needs.
  • Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present and/or evaluate clinically-focused training, continuing education and/or professional development opportunities.
  • Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs to ensure caregivers demonstrate excellent clinical performance, professional development, and knowledge about home health care to ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, agency-specific requirements.
  • Conducts skills check-off as needed consistent with Agency policy.
  • Assist with disciplinary procedures in a fair and consistent manner when indicated. Documentation is completed per policy and legal guidelines.
  • Collaborates with clinicians and organizational leaders to identify data/information reporting needs, collects, and analyzes data and identifies trends to improve organizational performance and clinical outcomes.
  • Maintains and promotes client satisfaction.
  • Works in and keeps current with Agency Developed/Approved Tracking Reports.
