About The Position

OrthoColorado Hospital is Colorado's only orthopedic specialty hospital, designed specifically for the orthopedic patient, featuring a 48-bed inpatient unit, including six intermediate care beds and eight operating rooms. All team members, from pre-operative care through recovery and in-patient nurses, are specialty trained in orthopedics. As an RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. This role is not supervisory or managerial but serves as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorizing work procedures, assigning duties, and performing shift charge. The coordinator demonstrates strong clinical judgment, ensures high-quality care delivery, and acts as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team for seamless communication and collaboration. Responsibilities also include maintaining communication and promoting cooperation with unit staff and other departments, providing input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring, and performance management of associates. The coordinator assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. They act as a professional role model, promote optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process, and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity. Personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values is essential.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (Nursing Diploma or by endorsement) required
  • RN License to practice in state of employment as applicable, required
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience as a Registered Nurse

Nice To Haves

  • Nursing Specialty Certification, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit

  • Promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act
  • Actively serve on unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity
  • Be personally accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values
