About The Position

OrthoColorado Hospital is Colorado's only orthopedic specialty hospital, specifically designed for orthopedic patients. This specialized facility and team of experts provide extensive experience and understanding of orthopedic patient needs, leading to better outcomes, increased patient satisfaction, and reduced risk of infection or complications. Located on the St. Anthony Medical Campus, OrthoColorado Hospital is a joint venture between physician investors and CommonSpirit Mountain Region. The state-of-the-art facility includes a 48-bed inpatient unit, six intermediate care beds, and eight operating rooms. All team members, from pre-operative care through recovery and in-patient nurses, are specialty trained in orthopedics. Surgeons are renowned for their talent, knowledge, and experience in their orthopedic specialties and subspecialties, ensuring an unprecedented level of care. As an RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. This role is not supervisory or managerial; instead, you will serve as a clinical nurse and a resource to the staff, authorize work procedures, assign duties, and perform shift charge responsibilities. You will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, and act as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration. The coordinator maintains communication and promotes cooperation with unit staff and other departments, and provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring, and performance management of associates. You will assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. The role requires acting as a professional role model by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing, and promoting the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act. The RN Clinical Coordinator actively serves on the unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity, while being personally accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
