At Shriners Children's St. Louis, we have a team of physicians and specialists who are highly trained and experienced in pediatric orthopedics. This team is equipped to treat children with a variety of different orthopedic conditions ranging from mild to complex. Other specialties you will find at our facility include limb lengthening and reconstruction, spine care, muscular and neuromuscular care, orthotics and prosthetics and plastic surgery. Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a full-time Nurse Clinical Coordinator. The Nurse Clinical Coordinator provides leadership, direction and clinical support to Care Management staff to promote quality patient care and a safe work environment. The successful leader will monitor staff performance, attendance/tardiness, and professional work environment with a team approach. In this position, you'll be responsible for supervising orientation of new staff, educating staff on policies and procedures and always looking for performance improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSN)
  • Active RN license in State of practice
  • 3 years experience as a Care Manager
  • 1 years experience in a supervisory position
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • CCM or ACM-RN certification required upon hire or within 1 year of hire

  • Master's degree (MSN; MBA; MHA)

Responsibilities

  • Promotes excellence in all clinical activities in the Care Management department as a Clinical Expert
  • Provides for and evaluates the quality of patient care through direct observation and assessment in collaboration with resource nurses.
  • Provides relief for staff to ensure adequate patient care
  • Serves as a leader in the development of standards and provides training to achieve Evidence Based Practice.
  • Assists the staff in resolving patient care challenges.
  • Assumes administrative duties for the department to include staff meetings, performance improvement, The Joint Commission readiness
  • Manages staff conflict and facilitates their resolution in a proactive approach by encouraging collaborative teamwork and problem solving
  • Takes a lead role in staff development
  • Supervises staff members to ensure patient needs are met
