About The Position

The University of Minnesota Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is a premier clinical research facility embedded within the University of Minnesota Health system, designed to support cutting-edge medical studies and accelerate translational science. As a dedicated Phase-1 clinical research unit located in the Phillips-Wangensteen Building, the CRU pairs state-of-the-art infrastructure with expert clinical support to deliver safe, high-quality research experiences for participants and investigators alike. It accommodates a wide range of study needs — from outpatient visits and specialized procedures to higher-risk and overnight stays — with integrated clinical nursing services, advanced laboratory capabilities, and seamless access to standard-of-care services when needed. The CRU’s proximity to University of Minnesota Medical Center enhances participant convenience and fosters collaboration across academic and clinical research teams.

Requirements

  • Associate’s (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) and current Minnesota RN license
  • BLS certification
  • 5+ years of hospital or clinic experience, or 2+ years of specialty/critical care experience with specialty certification
  • Experience with electronic health record systems
  • ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration required to be obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient needs and identifies anticipated nursing outcomes
  • Coordinates patient care in collaboration with other health care team members
  • Implements nursing interventions based on care plan
  • Delivers care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patients
