About The Position

The RN Clinic, Dermatology provides comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving dermatologic evaluation, treatment, and follow-up services in an outpatient clinic setting. This role supports providers by performing patient assessments, assisting with dermatologic procedures, preparing treatment plans, and monitoring patient responses to therapies. Working collaboratively with dermatologists, advanced practice providers, and clinic team members, the RN helps ensure care is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with clinical standards and organizational policies. The position functions within a supportive, specialty-focused environment where communication, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential. Through accurate documentation, patient education, and guidance on skin care regimens and procedural aftercare, the RN Clinic, Dermatology contributes to positive patient outcomes and a high-quality specialty care experience.

Requirements

  • Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure.
  • CPR required within orientation period.
  • Ongoing Point of Care certifications as required for department required within orientation period.
  • RN program as evidenced by licensure.
  • Computer use.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • One year or more of professional nursing experience preferred.
  • Clinic experience preferred.
  • Coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments, obtain medical histories, prepare patients for provider evaluation, and assist with dermatologic examinations and procedures.
  • Support procedures such as biopsies, excisions, wound care, and topical or injectable treatments following established clinical protocols.
  • Provide patient education on skin conditions, treatment regimens, biopsy care, sun protection, medication use, and follow-up guidelines.
  • Document assessments, treatments, and patient communications promptly and accurately within the electronic health record.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and supply levels, ensuring equipment readiness and adherence to infection-prevention standards.
  • Collaborate with providers, clinic staff, and satellite clinic teams to support efficient patient flow and coordinated dermatologic care.
