About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dermatology team as a Dermatologist RN. The ideal candidate will support the dermatologist in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with medical and cosmetic dermatologic procedures, providing patient education, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. This role requires a strong clinical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State]
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience (dermatology, plastics, or aesthetic medicine strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in assisting with dermatologic procedures and use of EMR systems
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor with a patient-first attitude
  • Six months of Dermatology back office experience REQUIRED.
  • MUST be able to Scribe in EMA/ModMed EHR

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical assisting experience preferred, but not required.
  • Cosmetic procedures/product sales a plus, but not required.
  • Must have great rapport with other staff and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dermatologist with medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures (e.g., biopsies, excisions, laser treatments, cryotherapy, chemical peels)
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and ensuring informed consent
  • Administer medications and injections (e.g., local anesthesia, biologics, corticosteroids) as directed
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and suture removals
  • Provide patient education on pre- and post-procedure care, skincare routines, and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Ensure sterile field setup and instrument sterilization in compliance with infection control standards
  • Triage patient calls and concerns, including prescription refills, test results, and follow-up instructions
  • Monitor inventory and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked and organized
  • Support clinical staff and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered work environment
  • Set up and sanitize exam rooms, clean instruments.
  • Maintain Pathology Logs/call back patients with results.
