About The Position
Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) to support students' physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs across various school districts. Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential (or willingness to obtain, if applicable).
- Valid CPR certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Must meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirements.
- Technological proficiency, including mobile devices for documentation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience as a school nurse preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including chronic condition management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, seizure disorders).
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and school policy.
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations.
- Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs).
- Participate in IEP/504 meetings as the healthcare representative.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and district guidelines.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, family, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
- Promote health education and wellness among students and staff.
- Respond to health-related emergencies and provide first aid/triage.
- Ensure compliance with immunization and communicable disease control laws/regulations.
