Looking for an experienced RN to join our prestigious Interventional Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab. Our catheterization facilities are among the most advanced in the world. The hospital manages 5,500 coronary and peripheral cases per year through this facility and it features six angiographic procedure rooms and a twelve bay prep and recovery area. You will play a critical role in patient care and comfort, ensuring patients have a positive experience from check-in through recovery and discharge. You are responsible for ongoing patient assessment taking patients and working with a multidisciplinary team to prepare patients for their procedures, circulating throughout procedures, and monitoring patients post-procedure to ensure their recovery goes smoothly. Successful candidate will be flexible and a compassionate caregiver with an advanced knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and professionalism are required and rewarded. Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients. Requirements

  • Current MA RN license required
  • Strong clinical background in cardiology preferred and 2-3 years Cath Lab or CCU/ICU experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Effective communication skills, collaborative approach and critical thinking
  • Ability to work four ten hour shifts and take after hour and weekend call as assigned.
  • Associate's Degree Nursing required
  • Clinical nursing experience 3-5 years preferred, 1-2 years Critical Care required
  • Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage critically ill patients.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology and disease processes preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
