Requirements

  • Current Alaska RN license in good standing
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • 2-3 years of Cath Lab experience OR 5+ years of high-acuity nursing experience (ICU, Critical Care, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in circulating, patient monitoring, and sedation medication administration
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification - American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes (8-10 call days per 4-week rotation)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Specialty certifications relevant to cardiovascular or interventional nursing (additional $2.00/hour certification pay available)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert nursing care during all invasive cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device implantations, ablation therapies, structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAC), and endovascular interventions.
  • Circulate and monitor patients throughout procedures, including transport, site preparation, sterile technique, hemodynamic monitoring, sedation administration, and hemostasis management following catheter/sheath removal.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication using SBAR protocols for hand-off communication.
  • Prepare and administer sedation medications, including mixing sedation drips, while maintaining patient safety and procedural efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation and complete all procedural paperwork for physician interpretation.
  • Respond to emergent cases with composure and clinical expertise, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in high-acuity situations.
  • Orient and mentor new team members as needed to maintain unit excellence.

  • Hourly Pay: $38.79-$56.74 based on experience (0-20+ years)
  • Shift Differentials: Evening $2.75/hour | Night $4.65/hour | Weekend $2.50/hour | On-Call $4.50/hour
  • Sign-On Bonus: $25,000
