Hillcrest Hospital's Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) is part of a comprehensive cardiothoracic and vascular program that cares for pre- and post-operative open heart, thoracic and vascular surgery patients, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization patients with associated interventions, such as percutaneous cardiac angioplasty and stent placement, ablations and pacemaker/internal cardiac defibrillator insertions, and general med/surg ICU/CCU overflow patients. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or America Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families
