The Cardiology Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The Cardiology RN will also facilitate the Cardiologists treatment plan and collaborate with affiliate providers. The Cardiology RN must also have the ability to triage and evaluate patient with critical cardiac complaints under the direct supervision of the cardiologist on call and via appropriately documented verbal orders. Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved RN nursing program
  • Valid and current Texas RN license
  • Critical Care, CCI / ICU, and/or Cardiovascular care experience
  • Proven ability to triage and evaluate patients with critical cardiac disease
  • Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned
  • Outpatient clinic experience
  • Windows based computer skills and EMR experience
  • CRT experience
  • ACLS
  • Good knowledge of cardiovascular diagnostic tests and medicines used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease
  • Proven ability to coordinate patient care across various sub specialties and with affiliate providers
