Primary Responsibilities: The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards Will consider OA I and OA II based on years of experience and certification You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant or Optometric/Opthalmic Assistant experience if not a graduate of an approved Medical/Ophthalmic Assistant program OR 6+ months experience and be a graduate of an approved Medical/Ophthalmic Assistant program
  • CRT experience
  • Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population

Nice To Haves

  • Certified as Ophthalmic Assistant
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician
  • 2+ years of work experience under an ophthalmologist
  • 1+ years and 6+ months of experience in ophthalmology
  • Ability to Scribe, use portable tonopen, Goldman VF, Fundus photography, Fluroscein Anniogram, Immersion IOL,
  • Ability to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform K-readings.
  • Windows bases computer skills
