About The Position

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is a 523-bed full-service acute care center with a legacy of over 49 years serving North Central Florida. The hospital offers comprehensive services including cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, neurosciences , minimally-invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, weight loss surgery, and women's health. Accredited by the Joint Commission and certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center , the hospital also holds an Accredited Chest Pain Center designation and is recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery . We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg unit , providing patient-centered care with high clinical standards.

Requirements

  • 1 year RN experience (Acute care preferred but Home Health, LTAC, Skilled Nursing, Outpatient Rehab, or Corrections accepted)
  • Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license (compact license holders have 60 days to obtain FL license after relocation)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment
  • Must live within commutable distance (60 min) due to on-call requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift; promptly report changes in status
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring timely documentation in the medical record
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and act appropriately in case of unintended response
  • Provide proactive, responsive, and compassionate patient care
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
