The 2E Observation Unit at Indian River Hospital cares for patients requiring further observation before being readmitted or returning home. By joining this team as an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers and healthcare staff in providing a comfortable space for patients to recover and regain their strength. While in this position, you will gain hands-on experience with a diverse patient population and can explore further education or professional development initiatives. A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:45PM - 7:15AM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. If you do not hold this certification, you will need to obtain it within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
