This is a per diem 12-hour day shift schedule that includes holidays and weekends. Located at Scripps Green Hospital in Torrey Pines, La Jolla. At Scripps Health, your potential is limitless. Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla has 173 licensed beds and more than 1,400 employees, Scripps Green campus includes Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, which is home to more than 50 medical and surgical specialties; the Anderson Outpatient Pavilion; the Shiley Musculoskeletal Center; the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine; and an on-site pharmacy. As a comprehensive transplant unit offering BMT and Solid Organ Transplant, we provide patient-focused care in our 24-bed, all private room unit. With 3-4:1 Nurse to Patient Ratios, our cohesive care teams work effectively and offer staff a sense of a home. Nurses love working in BMT because it truly feels like a close-knit family. The culture is supportive and welcoming, and staff genuinely enjoy helping one another. One of the most meaningful moments for the team is celebrating alongside patients - especially watching them ring the bell when they complete their transplants or treatments.

Requirements

  • Current CA RN License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS
  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • One year RN experience
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Previous RN experience in Oncology/BMT

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient care of bone marrow transplants, organ transplants, and hematologic cancer patients
  • Administer chemotherapy, blood products, stem cells and CAR-T cells
  • Anticipate and manage side effects related to treatment
  • Provide patient/caregiver education
