This position provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients, adhering to the facility's established policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include completing admitting and shift assessments, utilizing critical thinking to analyze patient data and notify physicians of changes, and actively participating in the development, review, and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans. The role also involves documenting all nursing care, accurately implementing physician orders, and continuously monitoring the patient and unit environment for safety. As a clinical resource, the RN supervises care delivered by LPNs and technicians and educates patients and their families, documenting all education in the Electronic Health Record. The nurse is expected to apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to ensure care is delivered based on age-specific and clinical needs, demonstrating professional nursing standards and guided by the ANA Code of Ethics.
