About The Position

The RN Ambulatory Service Manager I -Radiation Oncology is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and oversight of the Radiation Oncology nursing team in the Charleston Market. This position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate nursing care for all radiation oncology patients, while fostering a collaborative, efficient, and patient-centered environment. The Manager provides direct leadership for the Radiation Oncology nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and clinical support personnel. This role works closely with physicians, physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, and administrative leaders to support clinical excellence, optimize patient throughput, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and promote continuous professional growth within the nursing team. In addition to daily operations, the Manager is responsible for nursing practice standards, staff development, quality and safety outcomes, and alignment with the mission and values of MUSC Health. Works independently under the direction of the Director of Radiation Oncology and in close collaboration with the Radiation Oncology Leadership Team . Provides direct supervision to the radiation oncology nursing staff and serves as the primary nursing leader within the department. In collaboration with ICCE Department leaders and other leaders, the Manager ensures effective operations and proactively assesses and implements appropriate processes to ensure that all facets of ambulatory clinic management are effectively addressed. The Manager works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure timely patient access to care, operational efficiency, practice optimization, fiscal integrity, and to foster the delivery of a quality patient care experience. In addition to being responsible for daily clinical operations, the Manager is also responsible for clinical outcomes, fiscal stewardship, staff growth/retention, process improvement, metrics reporting and development and quality of patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of two years of prior clinical work experience required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse (RN) by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
