About The Position
The Resource Recovery Center of Orange County is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to those suffering from Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders. Substance Use Disorders are chronic illnesses, and treatment provided is based upon the presenting needs of the individual. Our goal is to help individuals and families begin the physical, emotional and spiritual healing process by utilizing compassionate, encouraging and evidence-based practices. We ultimately strive to guide individuals, and their families, towards a goal of living life to its full potential-free from addiction. We are seeking a registered nurse (RN) to join our staff as an Admissions/Intake Nurse. We are seeking a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Pratical Nurse to join our staff as an Admissions/Intake Nurse.In this position, you will be the first point of contact for client’s as they come into our facility. Primary responsibilities include nursing and administrative tasks, such as nursing assessments, vital sign monitoring, collecting medical history and ensuring that all paperwork is in order. You will also educate our patients on our services and what to expect during the admission process. Handle high call volume and conduct phone intakes to determine client’s eligibility for our services. Navigate EHR to document information gathered. Experience working with the behavioral health population is a plus.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BLS certification (through American Heart Association)
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- Currently registered as a professional registered nurse in good standing
- Two (2) years of experience in nursing.

- Experience working with the behavioral health population is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Obtain medical history from patients upon admission.
- Collect insurance information and have patients fill out the proper paperwork.
- Coordinate with physicians to determine client’s eligibility for admissions.
- Gathering data through phone screening
- Document data in our EHR
- Educate patients on detox/rehab level of care
- Review referral paperwork to determine appropriateness for our level of care
- Complete level of care determination application
- Other duties as assigned
