The Risk Reduction Coordinator role is crucial for supporting the NGB Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention contract. This position involves program and case management, training coordination, and supervisory responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in substance abuse prevention, suicide prevention, resilience, and program management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated instructing and briefing skills, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and metric development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field plus a minimum of four years of practical experience in Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, or Resilience, and program and case management, or 10 years of practical experience.
  • Experience in instructing and briefing skills, which demonstrate flexibility with various audiences.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule as duties require, including many weekends when state units are conducting training Suicide and Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator (State Level).
  • Ability to pass a background check and eligible to obtain a Contractor Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Advanced certifications or training in related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver training programs related to substance abuse prevention, suicide prevention, and resilience.
  • Provide case management support to ensure effective program implementation and participant outcomes.
  • Develop and present briefings to various audiences, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Collaborate with state units to coordinate training schedules, including weekends.
  • Provide, upon request, an information brief to State Leadership, delivered in person and electronically.
  • Maintain and develop state level partnerships with community-based services that are supported through their state affiliated substance abuse provider networks.
  • Be trained in, and function as, the State-level CRRT Gatekeeper, documenting all training per TOSR.
  • Train all Unit Commanders, First Sergeants, and Readiness NCOs in functionality, limitations, and appropriate uses of the CRRT, documenting all training per TOSR.
  • Provide Tier-2 CRRT State-level technical support (Super User).
  • Based on State Senior Leadership inquiries, provide reports and data related to the SAP and SP within four hours of inquiry from State ARNG Senior Leadership.
  • Provide, collect, review, and submit URIs for ARNG units IAW ARNGPPOM 20-014 and Survey Administration Instructions.
  • Report all URl / R-URI scheduling electronically within 48 hours.
  • Report ARNG units’ URI / R-URIs survey administration electronically within 48 hours from URI / R-URI of survey administration completion.
  • Send completed URIs with coversheet to the DPRR survey processing center within 5 business days of completed URI, signing and dating all URI / R-URI Coversheets.
  • Upon receipt of the URI results, provide unit commanders with the URR / RMP which includes recommended training.
  • Provide training, coordinate with outside agencies for training, and provide referrals for Service Members, as necessary, following up to ensure unit is conducting training.
  • Report Units refusing assistance with RMPs electronically within 48 hours of notification from the Unit Commander.
  • Enter State Prevention Council deliverables into Army Leader/Unit Risk Reduction Tool (ALURRT)Strategic Management Sys system (SMS) upon receipt of data (within 72 hours) from the national level prevention council coordinator.
  • Assist with Annual Defense Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS) by facilitating and assisting with input of data into the Office of People Analytics (OPA) website for the annual DEOCS in support of the Force Wide Climate Assessment based upon the organization’s requirement for that year (approximately 4 business days).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
