About The Position

This role is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the Risk Management Program for Griffin Memorial Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience substituting one year of professional level experience for each year of the required education.

  • Preference given to applicants experience in safety, safety inspection, safety education, engineering or risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Review Critical Incident reports and Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Identify and analyze trends related to workplace accidents, staff injuries, property damage, and compliance issues.
  • Provide consultation on injury prevention, staff training needs, and procedural improvements.
  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans based upon identified risk
  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess facility safety programs, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with JCAHO, CARF, OSHA, and Life Safety Standards.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings to ensure alignment with departmental risk management and safety practices.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Process Improvement committee meetings
  • Prepare and present, routine and ad-hoc, reporting as it relates the risk management program
  • Serve as the facility’s liaison with the Department of Labor, DCS Risk Management, the State Insurance Fund, and the State Fire Marshal, ensuring timely resolution of any agency-related issues.
  • Coordinate biannual OSHA on-site visits and participate in all OSHA and State Fire Marshal inspections.
  • Represent the facility’s risk management program during accreditation surveys (JCAHO, CMS, OHCA)
