About The Position

Are you detail‑oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting a safe and efficient workplace? The Village Center Community Development District is seeking a Risk Management Generalist to join our team and play a vital role in promoting safety, managing claims, and supporting district operations. This full‑time, non‑exempt position offers the opportunity to work closely with employees, residents, vendors, insurers, and internal departments—making a meaningful impact every day. JOB SUMMARY Advanced and specialized work providing support to the Risk Manager. Responsible for data entry, vendor COI’s and gate damages. Assists Risk Manager with Workers’ Compensation intake. The position is also responsible for assisting with daily risk inquiries and assistance to employees, residents and vendors. Serves on the Safety Committee and assists with communications to promote safety throughout the District. This position requires good judgment, excellent communication and organizational skills, and discretion. Works closely with departments internal, and external, to VCCDD, insurers, brokers, and employees. Professional appearance and communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED; Associates degree in Business Administration, Finance or other related concentration preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in workers’ compensation and property/casualty insurance/claims administration.
  • A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to insurance provider.
  • All candidates and employees must successfully pass background screening.
  • Knowledge and ability to understand insurance policies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Certificate of Insurance documents to verify vendor requirements are being met.
  • Exhibit working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation.
  • Proven intermediate or better ability in personal computer skills including electronic mail, recordkeeping, data base activity, word processing, excel spreadsheets, graphics, etc.; Ability to access, input, and retrieves information from a computer using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to successfully work with insurance representatives and people within the organization.
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts such as amounts, discounts, interest, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to utilize and gather a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information.
  • Ability to be instructed.
  • Ability to successfully interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form to produce required information.
  • Ability to successfully review, and accurately classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data and/or information.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews gate damage incidents, enters data, prepares invoices and answers general public inquiries.
  • Receives, logs and assists with incident reporting processes as information is received.
  • Maintains vendor insurance software and notifies vendors and District departments of status changes.
  • Assists employees and vendors with general reporting policies and procedures.
  • Assists with data collection in preparation of annual budget.
  • Produces reports as requested, and within designated timeframes and format requested (document, spreadsheet, etc.
  • Assists with incident reporting, budget data collection, and report preparation.
  • Assists with coordination of post-accident investigations and property loss inquiries.
  • Assists with tracking data and provides analysis of incident trends.
  • Assists safety committee by distributing agendas prior to meetings and sending finalized minutes after meetings within designated timeframe.
  • Prepares packets for monthly safety meetings and minutes for the meetings.
  • Compiles and maintains minutes from individual VCCDD departments in one centralized location.
  • Coordinates Certificate of Insurance (COI) renewal notifications and insurance requirements with the Purchasing Department and District vendors.
  • Maintains the CTrax database (COI database) vendor insurance information is current and available for the other departments to reference.
  • Views video files in Z drive and coordinates law enforcement viewing for information exchange to the District.
  • Manages and coordinates, with the Finance department, new customer creation in BS&A for the purpose of invoicing and collecting the cost of damages to district property.
  • Receives, logs and conducts cursory review and investigation of employee injury reports, and the related paperwork for such incident reports.
  • Files Workers’ Compensation, auto damage, property damage and liability claims with the insurance carriers.
  • Monitors motor vehicle reports and notifies departments of employee driving violations, suspensions and other driving infractions per District policy.
  • Monitors all claims and to ensure timely progress and accuracy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • In case of emergency or crisis (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform recovery duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Cultivates and maintains effective working relations within the department, the District, as well as outside of the organization.
