Job Description: This job is responsible for leading a team supporting data and technology requests, complex reporting and analysis, and modeling to manage risk and minimize credit and operating losses. Key responsibilities include managing the review and analysis of portfolio trends, directing the development of more complex databases or queries to extract data, and supporting the production of data for internal and external reporting needs. Job expectations include working with Technology to implement changes necessary to support ongoing data needs. The International & GWIM Credit Risk Reporting team produces reports, dashboards and analysis used to identify, monitor and manage credit risk at Bank of America. Effective credit risk reporting is critical to provide a clear understanding of current and emerging risks and ensures the bank can deliver responsible growth within our risk framework. The Risk Analysis Manager will be a subject matter expert who can understand business needs and then provide data and reporting to meet their requirements as efficiently as possible. The team has a long history using BI tools such as Tableau and SQL Server Reporting Services/Power BI to achieve a high degree of automation. More recently, the team is partnering with GBS and exploring AI to further drive efficiency. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of SQL and set themselves a high standard when it comes to reporting documentation and controls. The Risk Analysis Manager is a senior team member who will help define and execute the team strategy to align with various enterprise goals. They must also be comfortable communicating with stakeholders across Global Risk, the lines of business, technology and when required, audit and regulators.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a reporting, BI or MIS role
  • Experience building compelling dashboards and reports for executive reporting
  • An expert using BI tools, preferably Tableau and Microsoft SSRS/Power BI
  • Knowledge of credit risk and/or commercial credit products
  • Strong SQL and relational databases skills, in particular extracting data with complex queries
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and data analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Bank of America systems – CRP (Credit Risk Platform) or Credit Studio
  • Well-informed about data management and governance
  • Experience working with an Agile development process and collaborating with technology teams
  • Global Risk Management experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops, executes, and enhances reporting to allow Risk and business partners to effectively identify and manage risk
  • Manages the analysis of trends and oversees the data design, portfolio trends, loss trends, and portfolio dynamics to ensure alignment with business strategies
  • Serves as a liaison between the data, technology, and reporting teams in support of strategic initiatives affecting multiple Risk functions and lines of business to ensure company goals are met
  • Manages database production processes and performance reports for senior management, using data mining and other advanced analytical techniques to aggregate data
  • Responds to complex ad-hoc requests for information from both internal and external parties
  • Leads cross-functional strategic efforts to remediate data quality issues
  • Provides oversight of relevant systems and assures controls are operating effectively by monitoring outputs
