About The Position

The Rink Technician is a part-time position at the Centennial Sports Plex Ice Facility, reporting to the Facility Operations Manager. This role involves participating in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of facilities, grounds, and equipment at one or more of the Ford Ice Centers. Key responsibilities include setting up and disassembling hockey glass, dasher boards, party rooms, locker rooms, and other event-related equipment. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance, conduct pre/post-event inspections, clean and maintain operations department equipment, and prepare ice for all practices, games, and events by removing debris, checking ice depths, scraping, and edging. The position requires individuals to be 16 years of age or older, capable of following instructions, working in a fast-paced environment both independently and with others, and able to work irregular hours including nights, mornings, weekends, and holidays. A background check is a condition of employment.

• Ability to work long and/or irregular hours including nights, mornings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the facilities, grounds and equipment for operations at one or more of the Ford Ice Centers.
• Participate in set-up and disassembly of hockey glass, dasher boards, party rooms, locker rooms and other event related equipment.
• Preventative maintenance and repair of facility.
• Perform pre/post event inspections and document with completed checklists.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance on operations department equipment, keep work areas and equipment organized and functional.
• Prepare ice for all practices, games and other ice events. Duties include: removing debris; checking ice depths; scraping and edging the ice.
