About The Position

This position is for a Part-Time Ice Technician at the Centennial Sportsplex Ice Facility, reporting to the Facility Operations Manager. The role involves participating in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of facilities, grounds, and equipment for operations at one or more of the Ford Ice Centers. Key duties include setting up and disassembling hockey glass, dasher boards, party rooms, locker rooms, and other event-related equipment. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance and repairs, conduct pre/post event inspections, clean and maintain operations department equipment, and prepare ice for all practices, games, and other ice events by removing debris, checking ice depths, scraping, edging, and resurfacing the ice.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions and complete standardized checklist forms.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work long and/or irregular hours including nights, mornings, weekends and holidays.
• As a condition of employment, a qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including criminal history check, driving history and character references.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating an ice resurfacer and ice edger preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the facilities, grounds and equipment for operations at one or more of the Ford Ice Centers.
• Participate in set-up and disassembly of hockey glass, dasher boards, party rooms, locker rooms and other event related equipment.
• Preventative maintenance and repair of facility.
• Perform pre/post event inspections and document with completed checklists
• Perform cleaning and maintenance on operations department equipment, keep work areas and equipment organized and functional.
• Prepare ice for all practices, games and other ice events. Duties include: removing debris; checking ice depths; scraping, edging and resurfacing the ice.
