Purpose Take on a leadership role within the Right of Way team to provide services to clients and coordinate with Right of Way Agents/COS, project managers and other leadership, clients, engineers, and other disciplines to deliver on schedule and on budget transportation, energy, or utility projects. Train and mentor junior staff and manage workload for their team. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance. At the Operational and Company Level Be able to execute through administration, technical and management techniques on multiple projects to ensure the successful completion, on time and within budget. Effectively execute project contracts and develop internal staff. Assist in developing processes and provide input on achieving company and office operational excellence while growing their region and office. Do the Work Oversee client interaction, including preparation of new contract proposals, change orders, and attendance at project meetings. Lead and manage current project teams from bid until completion, while looking to obtain future business and performing own project duties. Mentor and direct junior staff, coordinate with project managers, and responsible for goal setting and performance management of right-of-way team. Work closely with Director, Right of Way to direct, manage and lead a right-of-way team in an office and / or in the field. Supervise and be responsible for the overall directions, coordination, and management of a right-of-way team and sub-consultants. Manage of daily plan production of team, schedule, budget, quality control/assurance, collections, and opportunities. Track results and reports progress on a regular basis. Assist in developing processes and providing input for achieving company and office operational excellence while growing region and office. Coordinate with leaders on project goals, progress, processes, reporting, and resource allocation. Complete timesheet review and employee evaluations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and/or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Eight or more (8+) years of experience performing all aspects of land, right of way, easement acquisition, title research, comparable industry related education, or related industry experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Right of Way supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Ability to lead and develop a right of way team and manage projects. Minimum two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge in aspects of Right of Way, including project management, acquisition, title, permitting, budgeting, cost forecasting, operation, due diligence, public relations, community outreach and solid understanding of general regulatory, eminent domain, and legal issues.
  • Experience reading construction / engineering or related design plans/profiles.
  • Intermediate computer skills in various Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with database systems.
  • Satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver's license.
  • Professional real estate license in applicable state or the ability to obtain one within 3 months (90 days) of hire is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry related Right of Way work experience and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Multilingual is a plus.
  • International Right of Way Association (IRWA) coursework or certification as RWA, RWP or SR/WA preferred.
