About The Position

Our client, a growing national land solutions firm supporting large-scale infrastructure projects is seeking an experienced Right of Way Agent to join its expanding team. This organization partners with private and public clients nationwide to deliver complex acquisition programs with precision, professionalism, and speed. We are seeking a candidate with 3+ years of right-of-way acquisition experience , strong negotiation skills, and working knowledge of title, survey, appraisal, and contract matters. Position Overview The Right of Way Agent will support infrastructure development projects by managing land acquisition efforts from initial landowner contact through agreement execution. This role requires strong stakeholder communication, attention to detail, regulatory awareness, and the ability to operate independently in fast-paced project environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of right-of-way acquisition experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience acquiring leases, licenses, easements, and temporary easements.
  • Working knowledge of title, survey, engineering, appraisal practices, and contract documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated negotiation experience.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe, Google Earth Pro, and GIS or mapping tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing third-party professionals, subcontractors, or team members preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • IRWA RWA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage landowners for acquisition of right-of-ways, easements, temporary easements, licenses, leases, rights of entry, and related agreements.
  • Negotiate and secure agreements necessary for construction, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
  • Review and interpret title reports; assist with title research and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, appraisers, and legal teams to support acquisition strategy.
  • Prepare documentation required to support condemnation proceedings when necessary, including detailed contact logs and good-faith negotiation records.
  • Draft and finalize acquisition documents, including easements, leases, permits, damage claims, and options to purchase.
  • Evaluate property appraisals and comparable sales to support fair market value determinations.
  • Analyze zoning and building codes; prepare and submit permit applications as required.
  • Participate in public meetings and stakeholder outreach efforts.
  • Track project status, budgets, timelines, and quality metrics; prepare periodic reports for client review.
  • Support cross-functional coordination and maintain accurate database and reporting systems.
