The Apertures and RF Team at Raytheon is looking for an Entry Level RF Hardware Electrical Engineer to be a member of a technical team for adaptable and multidiscipline hardware team responsible for analysis, trade studies, design reviews, design, design, testing, fielding/hardware refresh, integration and operational support. The candidate will be responsible for analysis, trade studies, design reviews, design, testing, fielding, integration and operations throughout the life cycle from initial concept definition through detailed design, development, qualification testing and into fielding and customer support. The team member will support engineering efforts as an individual contributor for various efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience with aspects of architecture, design, fielding, integration as well as engineering background with technical experience in radio frequency (RF) communications links and systems, antenna system design, functionality, and operation. This position is an onsite role, located in Aurora, CO. Program support activities may require travel CONUS and OCONUS which is not expected to exceed 25%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with Aerospace preferred.
  • Experience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB, Ansys HFSS or Python, for data analysis and automation
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, Signal Generator, etc.)
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Nice To Haves

  • Computer networking, basic cyber security/INFOSEC, Security + certification or equivalent desirable
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols
  • Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and execution of Analysis, Integration, Verification, or Troubleshoot Test activities in our labs or OPS environments
  • Support activity may require travel
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
  • Support preparation and presentation of results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
  • Support in managing engineering support activities related to test and trouble-shoot of hardware
  • Support root-cause analysis & implement minor design changes
  • Maintain engineering specification (DS, ARD, etc.) & drawing (Schematics & Assembly Drawings)
  • Maintain engineering databases
  • Participate in engineering tag up and meetings between the Program, System Engineering, and Chief Engineer
  • Resolve and coordinate system technical solutions with Engineering teams
  • Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
  • Support associated with implementing process requirements
  • Support for mock up hardware repairs
  • Sustainment/Depot returns and repair
