The Revenue Recovery Appeal Assistant is responsible for managing financial and audit tracking systems related to government and non-government payer audits. This includes updating financial outcomes, reconciling data in various billing systems (Epic, Allegra, Star, Cerner, IDX), and monitoring and investigating automated denials, particularly RAC denials. The role involves reviewing medical record documentation, collaborating with Denial Coordinators, and preparing and submitting appeals with adequate supporting documentation and timely submission. Additionally, the assistant monitors for Additional Development/Documentation Requests (ADRs) and prepayment/post-payment audit denials, processes these denials, and communicates activity to leadership. The position requires maintaining accurate financial and audit tracking database documentation and running reports, as well as performing general office duties and training new associates.
