Revenue Operations Lead

Hinge-HealthSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

The Revenue Operations Lead (P3) is an experienced individual contributor responsible for the performance and visibility of our revenue cycle in a subscription-based digital health model. This role is at the “senior IC” level: you won’t manage people, but you will own complex workstreams, set and manage cash collection KPI standards, and serve as a subject matter expert for cross-functional partners. You will design, manage, operate, and continuously improve the RCM KPI framework that underpins how we measure billing accuracy, collections performance, and overall financial health. You’ll work closely with Finance, Billing/Collections Operations, Data, and Commercial teams to ensure we are billing correctly, getting paid on time, and quickly identifying revenue and cash risks. This role is ideal for someone with solid, hands-on RCM experience who wants to move upstream into KPI ownership, analytics, and process design, while still staying close to the operational details.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in Revenue Cycle Management in a healthcare environment (provider, health system, health tech, or digital health), including exposure to billing and collections and/or denials management.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining RCM dashboards or KPI reports in Excel/Google Sheets and/or a modern BI tool.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with large data sets, reconciling volumes and payments, and validating data integrity.
  • Working knowledge of core RCM workflows, such as claim and/or invoice submission, remittance processing, AR aging, adjustments, write-offs, and refunds.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex operational issues into simple narratives and action plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with subscription-based, capitated, or value-based payment models (e.g., PMPM, bundled pricing, hybrid invoice/claims billing).
  • Familiarity with standard RCM metrics and concepts, including AR aging analysis, bad debt and write-offs, denial reason coding, underpayments, and revenue leakage analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL or BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode, Power BI) for self-serve data exploration and ad hoc investigations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects without formal authority—driving alignment, decisions, and follow-through with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Experience in a high-growth, fast-changing environment where processes, data structures, and tools are evolving.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates informally in KPI literacy, data hygiene, and RCM best practices, while remaining an individual contributor.

Responsibilities

  • Own the RCM KPI framework and reporting for a subscription model
  • Define and maintain a clear set of core RCM metrics tailored to a subscription-based digital health business (e.g., time-to-cash, DSO, AR aging, clean claim rate, first-pass yield, denial rate and recovery, refund SLAs, unapplied cash, revenue leakage indicators).
  • Document metric definitions, calculation logic, and data sources so stakeholders have a single source of truth.
  • Leverage defined metrics into the development and maintenance of recurring dashboards and reports (in BI tools and/or spreadsheets) that show performance trends by payer, product, and line of business - finding automation points when necessary.
  • Monitor KPIs, proactively flag anomalies or negative trends, and lead structured root-cause analyses (e.g., spikes in denials for a specific payer, increased time-to-cash for a new product, rising refund volume).
  • Quantify financial impact and partner with Billing, Collections, and Commercial teams to define and track remediation plans.
  • Partner with Finance to tie RCM KPIs to revenue, margin, and cash flow impacts, and help explain quarterly and monthly variances.
  • Provide KPI inputs and benchmarks for forecasts, scenario planning, and board- or SLT-level materials as needed.
  • Identify gaps in upstream and downstream processes (e.g., client setup, contract/billing configuration, payer rules, data mapping) that drive poor KPI performance.
  • Recommend and support implementation of process changes, controls, and tooling improvements that reduce revenue leakage and shorten the cash cycle.
  • Educate cross-functional partners on RCM concepts and how to interpret KPIs in a subscription context (PMPM, hybrid claims/invoice models, shared savings, etc.).
  • Provide input to product, data, and tooling roadmaps so that new capabilities support clean billing, efficient collections, and robust measurement.
