About The Position

The Revenue Management Consultant conducts analysis of data to identify revenue enhancements, reduce leakage, and accelerate cash to achieve and execute realizable, recurring financial improvements across the Revenue Cycle Continuum at Jefferson Health. Leverage deep knowledge of revenue cycle to evaluate the current state, analyze data, synthesize findings and recommendations, communicate to stakeholders, gain alignment, implement identified improvement areas and monitor outcomes. Apply research and evidence-based practice to identify optimal solutions. Employs data analytics to recognize opportunities to improve financial outcomes. Defines and manages project plans and goals; conducts business workflow mapping; impact analyses and modeling; applies action steps, develops status reports or communication plans and keeps leadership and key stakeholders apprised of project progress and ensuring project plans and deliverables are met and in alignment with organizational goals. Manages and oversees several multi-functional/interdisciplinary teams. Provides and monitors assignments of project team members, generally in a matrixed work environment. Coordinate projects, adheres to established methodology, manage deliverables, address risk factors, remove barriers and provide problem resolution in meeting project plan deliverables. Serves as a key consult and authoritative resource (internally and externally) providing seasoned guidance and proven leadership in resolving significant issues and in collaborating with executive leaders, key stakeholders, high level professionals and decision makers by influencing, developing and implementing operational process improvement and change management strategies and outcomes. Leads and facilitates senior level committee meetings and enterprise level multi-functional/interdisciplinary groups. Responsible for developing plans and strategies, setting standards, identifying outcomes and resolving issues having a Revenue Cycle Enterprise-wide scope and impact. Identifies and prepares operational and financial metrics and provides appropriate interpretation and application of data. Designs, develops and implements systems that provide financial, statistical and operational information. Identifies and recommends enhancements to computer systems and operational workflows which support the revenue cycle operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Informatics
  • 10 years progressively responsible operational (management), project management, consulting or relevant professional experience in revenue management (e.g. reimbursement, payor contracting, decision support, health information management, patient financial services, patient access
  • FHFMA - Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association - Healthcare Financial Management Association
  • Reasonable knowledge of project plans development, workflow analysis and change management/process improvement methodologies.
  • Extensive revenue management knowledge and experience.
  • Requires a breadth and mastery of technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in project plan development, workflow analysis, and managing complex process improvement/change management projects.
  • Ability to drive change and positive results and respond to difficult situations with ease.
  • Extensive experience planning, formulating and executing strategies.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate and demonstrate operational opportunities, business needs and recognize the interests of executive leaders, key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Ability to influence results, garner support and tactfully manage complex relationships across the Jefferson Health facilities.
  • Demonstrates superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience supporting and developing reporting and analytics for research, process improvement/change management support and specific revenue management function.
  • Ability to develop appropriate methods to collect, analyze and report data.
  • Must possess deep analytical, quantitative, evaluative and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrently running projects and adapt to changing deadlines, competing priorities and unexpected assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree
  • Training and certification in Six Sigma, LEAN highly desirable
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Visio) and standard project management software (i.e., spreadsheets, databases, graphics, presentation tools, etc.).
  • Experience and knowledge of Epic system and business intelligence tools (i.e. Qlik, Tableau, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple large multi-functional/interdisciplinary and highly visible projects having a system-wide scope of responsibility and impact.
