Requirements

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) of related work experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the function of the Chargemaster as well as revenue, CPT and HCPCS coding.
  • Good analytical and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and micro computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Consulting experience.
  • Coding or nursing credential (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, RN).
  • Experience in training, education or ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with various personnel on projects.
  • Meaningful experience with reimbursement methodologies for major payors.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of chargemaster experience.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of MS Excel experience.
  • Experience using SQL to extract data from established data warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex coding and compliance reviews to ensure charge process and chargemasters are up to date and working appropriately.
  • Work on special projects for the Revenue Integrity Department to comply with federal and state regulations as well as internal hospital policies.
