About The Position

Join UChicago Medicine as a Finance Trainer in our Burr Ridge office. HYBRID REMOTE OPPORTUNITY The Finance Trainer is responsible for designing and implementing finance operation based training curriculum to support the Revenue Cycle. In this role, you will collaborate with the Patient Financial Service management team to develop front and back end training processes. Job Summary The Finance Trainer will take the lead on content training for all Revenue Cycle personnel including but not limited to revenue cycle standards and protocols. You will ensure all employees in select roles are comfortable and knowledgeable regarding work flow and processes. Ensures employees demonstrate aptitude in all necessary systems and processes. The trainer will serve as the revenue cycle consultant to assist Finance management with identification of solutions for operational issues and training opportunities for perceived needs and revenue cycle protocols or processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and/or prior training or teaching experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, management, staff and other customers
  • Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to use independent thinking, sound judgment and creativity when resolving customer issues
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively handle challenging situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use personal computers and select software applications including Epic
  • Must comply with UCMC’s COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment. If you have already received the vaccination, you must provide proof as part of the pre-employment process. This is in addition to your compliance with the Flu Vaccination requirement as well. Medical and religious exemptions will be considered consistent with applicable law. Lastly, a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check are also required for all employees prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Design & develop training materials/curriculum around the Revenue Cycle needs and account flow in the billing cycle including insurance verification, registration, referrals/authorizations, pre certifications, MSP’s, systems, and account maintenance
  • Lead the Denial Task Force to be able to stay current on any trends that need to be addressed
  • Incorporate focused training and materials on the roles and responsibilities of all staff and roles that are involved in the revenue cycle.
  • Develop and document process standards, protocols and policies for Finance
  • Develop a new employee training schedule for non-clinical practice employees and coordinate HR benefit and Epic training with the appropriate departments
  • Develop competencies to measure knowledge, aptitude and skill
  • Develop ongoing training to ensure support of the Revenue Cycle and approach and to encompass new processes, protocols or regulatory requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
