About The Position

The Revenue Cycle Systems Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training on utilization of financial and clinical applications for all Revenue Cycle areas.  The department includes hospital patient access, financial counselors, patient accounting, medical audits, utilization review as well as the staff at remote points of service. Additional departments include APG, Urgent Care, Specialty centers and FQHC front desk departments.     The Trainer provides new and ongoing training to improve performance as well as support ongoing development of the Revenue Cycle areas.  In conjunction with management, the Trainer develops training materials and administers competency assessment to staff.  This position supports departmental improvement through on-going training, assisting in implementation of new processes and education.   The trainer also utilizes quality assurance tools to measure success.    This position also supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service and data, participating in performance improvement efforts, contributing to our financial strength and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • HFMA: CRCR or Litmos Certified Professional Revenue Cycle Master required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.   must pass exam within 2 attempts to maintain in position required.
  • 3 years’ experience in hospital, medical practice or healthcare with Scheduling, Registration, Insurance verification or billing background required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experienced in creating training materials in power point or other electronic formats required.
  • Experience in presenting training in person or online required.
  • Proficiency in: Word, Excel, PowerPoint experience is required.
  • Incumbent must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Incumbent must be able to take projects to completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Star or Cerner experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of third-party payer reimbursement and regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all types of medical insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, Blue Cross, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and previous training experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
