About The Position

The GMS Cost Estimator assembles and analyzes data to forecast profit and loss related to healthcare services , projects, or operational changes aiding financial planning and decision-making. Key responsibilities include cost analysis and forecasting, collaboration with stakeholders, cost management, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulations, and statutes.

Requirements

  • Requires a University Degree and minimum 6-8 years of prior relevant experience; some roles may require graduate-level education Master’s or Doctorate degree (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • 6 years in cost estimation techniques, modeling, and financial analysis, advanced Excel knowledge, and familiarity with industry software and databases.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle knowledge
  • Experience with revenue cycle managed services or advisory services
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills for teamwork and meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or business administration is preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications like Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Estimating (AACE International) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Cost Forecasting: Analyzing available documentation to understand scope, identifying cost-influencing factors, and using historical data, trends, and research for accurate projections.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working with project teams and stakeholders, managing bids from vendors, and presenting detailed cost models and analyses to management and clients.
  • Cost Management and Optimization: Evaluating cost alternatives and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Assisting with regulatory compliance, including cost transparency requirements, and maintaining cost databases and documentation.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Additional and separate responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate.
