About The Position

Las Vegas Petroleum operates a network of gas stations, convenience stores, and travel centers across Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas. As we continue to grow, we are committed to upholding the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. We are seeking a meticulous Revenue Auditor to join our finance team and ensure compliance and accuracy across our revenue streams. Job Overview: The Revenue Auditor will be responsible for conducting daily audits of revenue transactions, verifying compliance with company policies, and identifying any discrepancies. This role is essential in safeguarding the integrity of our revenue by ensuring adherence to internal controls and external accounting standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled in financial reporting, and comfortable providing actionable insights to improve revenue processes.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in revenue auditing in the retail industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to clearly present findings and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed daily audits of end-of-day revenue transactions to verify data accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports based on audit findings and present insights and recommendations to management.
  • Reconcile revenue data across various departments, investigating and resolving discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Ensure all revenue practices comply with internal controls and regulatory standards related to revenue recognition.
  • Work closely with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies, implement corrective measures, and enhance revenue tracking processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate revenue tracking processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending enhancements.
  • Assist with financial statement audits and serve as a liaison with external auditors as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in revenue auditing.
