About The Position

Records oil and gas sales in a timely and accurate manner; performs sales variance analysis; and reconciles account receivables and general ledger balances; as well as any ad hoc assignments. Essential Job Responsibilities: Prepares and records oil and gas revenue, royalties, deducts and taxes for assigned fields promptly and with accuracy on a monthly basis on a limited range of assignments and fields under moderate supervision. Maintains master data set ups and trouble shoots error messages in ERP system with assistance as needed. Reviews cash application by assigned properties on a monthly basis. Reconciles and resolves outstanding account receivable and payable general ledger balances for assigned properties on a monthly basis. Analyzes data related to assigned area of responsibility and explain variances. Understands revenue bookings for all products and treatment of fees. Delivers results and reports on a limited range of assignments and fields. Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with team and other groups. Able to recognize problems and present potential solutions. Able to develop a fundamental understanding of their accounting workflow for assigned area of responsibility. Ensures proper internal controls are in place to check accuracy of work product. Able to complete ad-hoc requests and special assignments in addition to routine tasks. Requirements

  • Three (3) years minimum experience in oil and gas revenue accounting.
  • Able to prioritize and balance multiple requests with conflicting priorities.
  • Familiar with integration between division orders, marketing, production accounting, compliance.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the interdependences between accounting departments and basics of the business/industry.
  • Ability to follow the existing documentation and make updates as needed.
  • Ability to understand the controls for areas of responsibility to ensure accuracy of work.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex operational information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Familiar in the use and application of the following software: Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and SAP PRA Accounting software experience as well as working knowledge of oil and gas accounting systems like Crawford Legacy PPA Plus Pack and Enertia.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in accounting or relevant experience.
