About The Position

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for revenue recognition activities including contract review, invoicing, reconciliations, and month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related accounting experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Knowledge and understanding of ASC 606 with understanding of performance obligations and stand-alone selling price
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs. Proficient in excel including pivot tables, Vlookups, embedded formulas etc.
  • Strong analytical skills to provide insights on analysis and variance explanations related to the financial statements
  • Authorization to Work in the U.S.: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. DISCO is not currently sponsoring visas, including, but not limited to, H-1B, TN, or EAD, and we are not accepting visa transfers.

  • Prior experience in fast moving/innovative SaaS technology environment
  • Have big 4 public accounting experience

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Contract Compliance: Evaluates revenue contracts to ensure ASC 606 compliance. Performs daily analysis of MRR and revenue activities, validating internal and external metrics for accuracy. Collaborates with billing for monthly invoicing, applying contractual adjustments.
  • Accounting Precision: Prepares precise balance sheet account reconciliations. Analyzes and records revenue, deferral, and credit loss journal entries. Ensures precise and timely revenue booking adhering to GAAP standards.
  • Internal Control and Documentation: Assists in preparing and maintaining documented internal control processes. Facilitates external audit requests and provides necessary documentation.
  • Journal Entry and Reporting: Prepares accurate journal entries for financial transactions. Generates ad hoc reports for FP&A and Finance.
