About The Position

We are seeking a Revenue Accountant to play a critical role in managing and optimizing revenue accounting processes within a fast-growing SaaS organization. This position will ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition under ASC 606, review complex contracts, and support monthly and quarterly close cycles. The Revenue Accountant will partner cross-functionally with Sales and Revenue Operations teams to maintain financial integrity, enhance internal controls, and drive operational excellence. This is a high-visibility role, ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, private equity–backed environment and enjoys contributing to scalable processes that support long-term growth. Strong technical accounting expertise, audit readiness, and a focus on process discipline are essential to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5–8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or subscription-based companies.
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and their application in complex contract scenarios.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing complex customer contracts for revenue implications.
  • Strong knowledge of subscription business models, multi-element arrangements, and professional services revenue.
  • Proficiency in Intacct, NetSuite, Salesforce, and advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and process discipline.
  • Experience in private equity–backed or high-growth environments.

  • CPA designation highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end revenue recognition for subscription and professional services revenue in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Review customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue treatment, including performance obligations, transaction price allocation, and timing of recognition.
  • Maintain deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract assets/liabilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile monthly revenue-related journal entries and rollforwards.
  • Support tax filings for sales and use tax returns and other statutory obligations.
  • Partner with Sales and Revenue Operations to ensure accurate reporting and process efficiency.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close cycles, maintaining strong internal controls and audit readiness.
