About The Position

This role offers a high-impact opportunity to manage end-to-end revenue accounting processes within a fast-paced, growth-oriented SaaS environment. The Revenue Accountant will ensure ASC 606 compliance, maintain accurate and timely financial reporting, and strengthen revenue recognition processes to support strategic business objectives. This position will partner closely with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Finance teams, reviewing contracts, analyzing complex revenue arrangements, and managing deferred and unbilled revenue. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, private equity-backed organization, is detail-oriented, and can balance technical accounting rigor with operational efficiency. The role provides visibility across the organization and the ability to influence scalable revenue practices as the company grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology companies.
  • Strong expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and their application to subscription and professional services revenue.
  • Proven experience reviewing and analyzing complex customer contracts for revenue implications.
  • Knowledge of deferred revenue calculations, contract modifications, and revenue allocation.
  • Proficiency with Intacct, NetSuite, Salesforce, and advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 for subscription and professional services revenue.
  • Review and interpret customer contracts, identifying performance obligations, allocating transaction prices, and determining recognition timing.
  • Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract assets/liabilities.
  • Prepare, review, and post monthly revenue journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support tax compliance, including sales and use tax filings and other statutory obligations.
  • Partner with Sales and Revenue Operations to ensure accurate data and process alignment.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close cycles, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of revenue accounting policies and controls.
