About The Position

We are seeking a Revenue Accountant to be part of the Global Services & Commerce Accounting team in Austin, Texas. You will work with GBS and cross-functional partners supporting accounting responsibilities for Services & Commerce activity (including but not limited to Gift Card, Royalties, Wallet, Payments, Commerce) on both production and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with capacity to take ownership of and manage complex accounting matters though demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Public accounting or large corporation experience.
  • Proficient in U.S. GAAP (ASC 606) and internal financial controls.
  • Advanced systems skills required especially ability to quickly learn and master different IT systems.
  • ERP (i.e. SAP) systems skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA.
  • Strong SAP skills.

  • Ensure appropriate revenue recognition and other related accounting positions for Services & Commerce activity (including but not limited to Gift Card, Royalties, Wallet, Payments, Commerce).
  • Manage and resolve exceptions that impact revenue recognition and other relevant accounting processes.
  • Engage with multiple business partners as a subject matter expert. Assist them to work through complex and ad hoc accounting matters, answer questions and provide valuable feedback in both projects and regular functions.
  • Participate in the close process by preparing accounting entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and other close deliverables.
  • Ensure that all work is in compliance with Apple finance policies, U.S. GAAP and internal financial controls.
  • Participate in quarterly balance sheet reconciliation reviews by presenting their work and explaining their process.
  • Participate in projects during their entire cycle, from initial engagement to production go-live.
  • Lead, plan and support the implementation of initiatives to drive process improvements in terms of quality, efficiency and scalability.
  • Perform other related ad-hoc tasks as needed.
