About The Position

As a key member of the Revenue Cycle team, is accountable for the operations of the HIM Department ensuring key performance indicators and goals are achieved. Oversees and implements HIM operational initiatives and workflow processes relating to Document Management for Jefferson Northeast, Abington and Lansdale Hospitals. Monitors productivity, creating, updating, and enforcing policies and procedures, and managing overall operations of the business unit. Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson Performs tactical planning and carries out strategic plan, while effectively managing staff resources, within budget & quality standards. 15% Development and performance management within areas of responsibility, translating the departmental vision into meaningful and effective results. 15% Monitor key performance indicators and prepare various status reports for management in order to analyze trends and determine opportunities for improvement to deliver successful results 15% Responsible for daily operations of departmental unit and manages performance of department unit staff utilizing data (KPIs, metrics, etc) 20% Establishes operating cadence and leads team meetings/huddles and communicates changes in policies, procedures, regulatory requirements or priorities 10% Works and resolves problems of diverse scope 15% Accountable for team's morale, coaching, rewards, recognition and turnover/recruiting 10% Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required): Proficient in HIM functions. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills; Exceptional written and verbal communication. Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans, and utilize time effectively and efficiently. Strong working knowledge and experience in with EHRs (i.e., Epic), Privacy regulations and record of care regulatory standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong execution skills.

Requirements

  • Proficient in HIM functions.

  • Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans, and utilize time effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in with EHRs (i.e., Epic), Privacy regulations and record of care regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong execution skills.
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Heath Administration preferred
  • Prior experience working in HIM Department preferably at least 3 years lead or management experience.
