Our successes breed your opportunity! The Relationship Consultant will act as a daily point of contact for a book of institutional retirement plan clients. He/she will be responsible for coordinating between the plan sponsors, plan recordkeeper, TPA, and investment firms in matters pertaining to the daily administration and management of the plan. The role will work on business development and new client acquisition; alongside the retirement plan consultant/advisor. Running RFPs, coordinating investment changes, and assisting with education and financial wellness planning are key components to the role. The relationship consultant services as a primary advocate and support to the plan sponsor to achieve the goals of the plan and help their employees retire successfully. Candidates must possess: Microsoft Office efficiency, be securities licensed, have working knowledge of employer sponsored retirement plans, operate proactively, and have experience in providing investment consultation and presenting to clients and committees. Candidate must be highly organized and be able to adapt to a dynamic, fast paced environment. Travel may apply in this position and will include locations within driving distance. Additional responsibilities of this position include: assisting with client reporting materials, coordinating supplies for client visits, scheduling appointments and assisting with marketing efforts of the firm. Successful candidates will interact cohesively with all the teams with the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in retirement plans
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Securities Licensing which may include: Series 6, 63, 7 preferred and 65
  • Strong ability to analyze and provide financial and plan advice
  • Knowledge of retirement plans
  • Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills including: Excel: Enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Outlook, quickly learn new tools and programs

Responsibilities

  • Preparation for plan sponsor meetings and committees
  • Strategic planning and recommendations to plan sponsors
  • Investment menu design and recommendations
  • Attend meetings with investment partners
  • Meeting minutes
  • Prepare plan design consulting change proposals
  • Review Plan Documents and Benchmark plan design
  • Cost and vendor benchmarking and analysis; fee negotiations when necessary
  • RFP – Request for Proposal with Recordkeeper & TPA
  • Performance monitoring of investments
  • Recommend fund changes and coordinate with team and recordkeeping partners
  • Operate and understand internal tools and software
  • Understand multiple recordkeeping systems and processes
  • Manage and understand recordkeeping resources
  • Understand plan sponsor individual needs
  • Understand employee engagement and advice
  • Work alongside Employee Education and Wealth Team
  • Look for cross sale opportunities and communicate with clients all services available
  • Serve as the Plan Sponsor advocate and solve for challenges that arise
  • Maintain good relationships with all partners – Recordkeeper, Investment firms, TPAs, etc
  • Business Development
  • Work alongside acquisition new qualified retirement plan opportunities; thorough partnering with Plan Advisors and Networking
  • Attend networking events to engage new opportunities
  • Build presentation decks and present services
  • Manage the Request For Proposal (RFP) process
