NTCA is looking for a Retirement Benefits Specialist to join our dedicated team in beautiful Asheville, NC. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting our Retirement Services Department, consisting of our defined benefit pension plan and our defined contribution 401(k) plan ensuring employees in rural areas receive the retirement benefits they’ve earned. As a Retirement Benefits Specialist, you’ll be the go-to expert for plan participants and HR teams. Your day-to-day will include: Calculating and processing retirement benefits and paymentsProcessing contributions and reconciling financial information Responding to participant inquiries and explaining benefit optionsReviewing eligibility and answering plan-specific questionsMaintaining accurate participation recordsAssisting with plan documentation and administrative proceduresSupporting special projects and initiatives as needed We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Ideal candidates will have: Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsThe ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionallyExcellent time management and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookA customer-first mindset with exceptional service skillsA basic understanding of accounting and banking principles Prior experience in retirement or benefits administration is helpful but not required.
